In short: the app collects nothing and connects out only to check for updates. The only personal data we handle is the email and license info Paddle passes us when you buy, or what you send us by email.
MinPin is an independently developed software product. Its operator is the data controller for the limited personal data described below. Contact: support@minpinproxy.com.
The short version
The MinPin app contains no telemetry, analytics, or tracking. It does not phone home. The traffic you capture and decrypt never leaves your Mac. License verification happens entirely on your device using Apple CryptoKit — there is no server-side license check. The only personal data we handle is what you give us when you buy a license or email support.
1. What the app collects
Nothing. MinPin captures network traffic locally so you can debug it; that data stays on your machine. We receive none of it. The app makes outbound network connections only to:
- check for app updates (the Sparkle update feed served from our website);
- optional, user-initiated actions you trigger yourself (e.g. "Publish to Gist", downloading a threat-intel feed). These run only when you ask.
Crash reporting is opt-in and local: MinPin only reads the crash reports macOS already writes, and never transmits them — you choose whether to share a report.
2. What we collect when you buy or contact us
- Purchase data — when you buy PRO, our merchant of record Paddle.com processes the payment and shares with us your email address and order/transaction identifiers so we can issue and email your license key. We do not receive your full card details.
- Email — your address, used to deliver your license and to reply to support. Stored only as long as needed to support you.
- Support correspondence — the contents of emails you send us.
3. How we use it
To issue and deliver your license, provide support, process refunds, and meet legal/accounting obligations. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
4. Who we share it with (sub-processors)
- Paddle — payments, invoicing, tax (merchant of record).
- An email delivery provider — to send your license email.
- A cloud hosting provider — runs the license-issuance webhook.
- GitHub — hosts the website and app/update downloads.
Each processes data only to provide their service to us.
5. Retention
We keep purchase and license records for as long as required for support, warranty, tax, and legal purposes, then delete or anonymize them.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR/CCPA), you may request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your personal data, and you may object to certain processing. Email support@minpinproxy.com and we will respond within the time required by law.
7. Cookies & the website
The marketing site uses no tracking cookies or third-party analytics. The checkout flow is provided by Paddle, which may set cookies necessary for payment; see Paddle's privacy policy.
8. Children
MinPin is a developer tool not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
We will post any changes here with a new "Last updated" date.
